SUITABILITY

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment does not have any pre-requisite courses.

However, this is an accelerated course that spans 13 weeks of webinars, self directed learning and assessment activities and some experience in training and assessment would be beneficial.

To enrol in this course, you will need to provide evidence of your work experience or previous study. This is to ensure that you have a foundation skills to complete study at this level. This will create a more efficient learning environment for yourself and everyone involved.

UNIT

There are 6 core units and 6 elective units that make up the TAE40122 course.

Core units are integral to the job outcomes of a trainer and assessor.

There are multiple entry points and depending on the course timetable. You complete the following:

Cluster 1 – Introduction to training and assessment in the VET sector. This is a self-paced cluster that you need to complete prior to joining webinar sessions.

Cluster 2 – Design training sessions Webinar, independent study and assessment activities.

Cluster 3 – Deliver Training Webinar, independent study and assessment activities.

Cluster 4 – Assess competence Webinar, independent study and assessment activities

Smart and Skilled is a NSW Government program that helps people get qualifications in in-demand skills and industries. It’s a key part of the NSW vocational education and training system. It helps people in New South Wales gain the necessary skills to find employment and progress in their careers.

Smart and Skilled gives eligible students: 

  • an entitlement to government-subsidised training up to and including Certificate III 

  • government funding for higher-level courses (Certificate IV and above) in targeted priority areas.
