This course can help you become skilled in the joinery industry. You’ll get the chance to learn on the job or in a workplace environment, gaining practical experience. This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway.

SUITABILITY

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.

To become an apprentice and gain a trade qualification, you must meet additional requirements. This is to ensure that this delivery option is suitable for you.

  • Over the age of 18 years
  • Have successfully completed TAE Institutes LLN entry assessment consistent with the TAE Institute’s LLN Policy
  • To take this course as an apprenticeship, you need to be employed as an apprentice in the industry as evidenced by a letter of support from your employer and
  • Register with an Apprenticeship Network Provider who will support your application.
  • Submit your Training Plan Proposal (TPP) with your application.

RULES

To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in:

      29 units of competency

    • 18 core units
    • 11 elective units

UNIT

Pre-requisite

An asterisk (*) against a unit code below indicates that there is a prerequisite requirement that must be met. Prerequisite unit CPCCWHS2001 – Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry must be assessed with an asterisk before any unit of competency is assessed.

Completion requirements

You will need a general construction induction card ( white card ) before you can enter a construction site

  • CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

DELIVERY MODE

Australian Apprenticeships training can be on-the-job, off-the-job or a combination of both. TAE Institute will negotiate your attendance and study pattern with you and your employer. 

This program is to be delivered blended in face-to-face and online learning in combination with self-paced assessment learning along with access to appropriate simulated workplace environments for practical aspects.

PATHWAYS

Achieving success in this process means you’ll be able to obtain your qualification much faster, saving you time and effort.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL)

It is possible to decrease the amount of coursework required for your selected program by evaluating the skills you have acquired through work experience, life events, or formal education and training. The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) certifications, as well as statements of attainment issued by other registered training organizations, will be accepted.
